July 7, MOUNT PEARL, NL – Well-known advocate, volunteer, and community member Nicole Kieley
today declares her intent to run for Mount Pearl City Council in the 2021 municipal election. Kieley’s
robust and balanced experience as a social policy advisor, non-profit director, and small business owner
align perfectly with the qualifications required of an informed, committed and vocal Councillor.
“A Councillor must maintain and help create public services that work for every Mount Pearl citizen
while remaining fiscally responsible and accountable. My experience in nonprofit leadership and as a
small business owner have taught me the importance of careful fiscal management. Time spent on
numerous government and community committees have given me the skills to ensure inclusivity and
accessibility for our increasingly diverse population.”
Kieley is dedicated to increasing supports and services for both seniors and families.
“My parents moved our family to Mount Pearl when I was very young. Because they did, my siblings and
I were able to grow up in a safe, beautiful, and enriching community. As Councillor, I will work to ensure
that all families have that same experience, while simultaneously supporting our thriving senior
community, who are the very backbone of our City. This multi-generational focus is critical to the health
and wellness of our citizens, but also fosters the growth of local business and supportive infrastructure.”
As she has been doing for many years, Kieley will be active in the many events and neighbourhoods of
Mount Pearl throughout her candidacy. She will officially kick off her campaign on Wednesday, July 6th
at 2PM via Facebook (Page as noted below), and will outline her vision for the City at that time.
